Six Little Words by Sally Page

Loved this book. It’s about creativity, people from different walks of life coming together and supporting each other on their individual creative journeys.
It is set on the North Norfolk coast, great for atmosphere and a bit of birdwatching thrown in!
The Six Little Words are:
To be or not to be
Creative?
Meet some of the characters
Posted in a café by Bardy (Jon Shakespeare) who is a retired teacher and poet. Kate, whose husband Doug left her for a younger woman (and changed his name to Dougie) (how crass is that) sees the six little words and wonders. As does Linda, who is driven mad by her husband because he won’t turn his hearing aid up.
Luigi owns the café and when Bardy meets Kate and Pia there he falls for Pia. Turns out she prefers women and fancies Kate.
If you were a colour, which colour would you be?
When Bardy first set eyes on his wife (39 years before) he saw her as a golden yellow light. Hana left him a year ago. Over the years they fostered Tay’s mother and Bardy is still looking out for Tay now – yellow ochre. He sees Kate as silver, but can’t quite place Pia in colour.
Creative Journeys
They all set off on their chosen creative journey – poetry, painting, quilting, carpentry, photography and more. Being a creative person myself, it was a fascinating read.
I fell in love with all the characters and the landscape – it is quirky and funny and wonderful. It is not often that I feel sad when I get to the end of a book, but when I got to the end of the epilogue I almost wanted to start again.
Have you ever felt like that about a book?
